Armstrong Chelonis LLP

Welcome to Armstrong Chelonis LLP!

Since you are checking us out, the odds are pretty good that you are in need of some consulting, bookkeeping, accounting or maybe even tax services. Don’t worry; you’re in the right spot and we can definitely help you with any or all of the above. Armstrong Chelonis LLP is a public accounting practice offering a wide range of accounting/finance services to small businesses, professionals and individuals.

When selecting an accountant that’s right for you and/or your business, what exactly do you look for? Rather than focusing on what the accountant has to offer, you must truly understand your needs, then you can look at finding an accountant that meets those needs. Take the time to understand your situation and your needs as everybody’s situation is unique – we can also help with assessing your needs but it’s important that you are a part of that process.  From there, you can determine whether Armstrong Chelonis LLP is the right fit for you and/or your company.

Armstrong Chelonis LLP has created the 5 E’s of Accounting that we believe are important factors to take into consideration when selecting an accountant and have outlined each of them below;

Our biggest asset, pardon the pun, is our efficiency. We focus on continuous improvement while taking into consideration both short-term and long-term objectives. With this mindset, we embrace change and invest our time wisely on tasks that are going to pay dividends – change tends to involve an initial investment of time and money upfront with the benefits being recognized down the road. This initial investment is scary to most but we tackle change head-on utilizing the appropriate resources – often our advanced Excel skills to streamline processes by creating superior and time saving processes.

By definition, effective simply means the ability to accomplish a purpose or goal but the definition doesn’t address whose purpose or goal. One of the reasons why we started Armstrong Chelonis LLP was because the answer to this question is too often the accountant’s goal. Our objective with Armstrong Chelonis LLP is to ensure you understand your needs as the client and we service those needs accordingly, not the other way around. Now that’s effective!

It’s all about the best bang for your buck, while taking into consideration that a few dollars saved initially could cost you hundreds if not thousands in lost tax benefits and integrated professional advice. Our value comes as a result of our other E’s and creating relationships that are mutually beneficial. As business owners ourselves, we understand and appreciate the value of time and money and treat/respect yours as if it were our own.

We are Certified General Accountants (CGA) which has enabled us to gain the knowledge and understanding of finance and accounting functions along with the ability to “see more than just numbers” CGA – Ontario.  As a CGA, we are governed by CGA’s Code of Ethical Principles and Rules of Conduct which sets out professional obligations to society, clients and employers. In addition, Jason obtained his Honours Bachelor of Commerce from Laurentian University along with his Business – Accounting and Business Administration – Accounting diplomas from Fanshawe College and most recently his Payroll Compliance Practitioners certification. John also obtained a Business Accounting diploma from Fanshawe College along with successfully completing the Canadian Securities Course.

We have combined over twenty-five years of experience in the accounting field in various capacities from entry level positions to management positions. Although the entry level positions are often overlooked, they have allowed us to build a strong foundation of skills and abilities that can be transferred to any industry. While working in public accounting, we gained valuable experience directly related to the services that we are offering with Armstrong Chelonis LLP. In addition to this experience, we teach Principles of Accounting I & II, Computer Applications for Intermediate Accounting I & II and Microeconomics in the Lawrence Kinlin School of Business at Fanshawe College. With John being the proud owner of Nicholas & Elizabeth Bridal and Jason always looking to expand his portfolio, we bring first hand experience as entrepreneurs. This broad exposure has bred a thought process that allows us to adapt to any given situation and see the full picture while thinking outside the box.
